Walter S. Arnold worked at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. from 1980 to 1985, under the direction of Vincent Palumbo, a fifth-generation master carver. In addition to working on Frederick Hart's west front tympanum sculptural triptych, "The Creation", Mr. Arnold carved over ninety smaller pieces, including gargoyles, grotesques, and column capitals. Here you can see a few of these works.
