This shield is 6'6" tall and 4'4" wide, carved in two panels of limestone. At the deepest point there is about 8" of relief. I was provided with a small graphic of the crest, and from that created a full sized image and developed the carving.

Custom stone signage allows you express the unique quality of a home, building, business, institution, or community. In designing and hand-carving these wall sculptures, it is necessary to consider how they will be placed and viewed. carved lettering on an address stone that is seen from 15 feet away requires a different touch than a logo that is viewed from 200 feet. A north-facing stone ornament requires special texturing and treatment so that it will have contrast and clarity despite lack of direct sunlight.
